Exist
In new feature progress, we launched a set of new supported attributes which users can supply data for via the API. One of these, commits, will be used by the upcoming GitHub integration that I also started working on this month.
On the more administrative side of things, we had our early backers recurring this month, and emailed them all in the nick of time to remind them of their upcoming payment and all the great things we added in the last year. Unfortunately, I also had to deal with regular network issues with our hosting provider, and I was on edge constantly for a couple of weeks worrying that at any time our sites could become unreachable. Fortunately, it now seems to be better (knock on wood).
Belle published two blog posts to the Exist blog:
Larder
April saw the soft launch of our new product, Larder. Most of the month was taken up with a frantic last-minute rush to finish the browser extensions for Chrome, Safari, and Firefox, as well as lots of little auxiliary things — email list integration and drip campaign, support email service set up, endless tweaks of the landing page. I also went further with the GitHub integration and started importing and displaying metadata about repos' last commit and release dates.
Belle and I published three Larder link round-up posts:
- What's in your Larder #1: Go web frameworks
- What's in your Larder #2: iOS
- What's in your Larder #3: Little-known languages
And two episodes of our podcast talking about Larder:

This month's income was bigger due to our early backers recurring for the year. Conversions declined because we increased our trial time from 14 days to one month at the end of March, and should be back up next month.
